I made this chassis for a Christmas present for a family member. The outer motor mounts were first turned in the lathe and then machined in the CNC mill using soft jaws. The central cross was machined between centers on the lathe and finished up in the mill. The carbon tubes were cut to length, cross drilled, and the inner diameter sanded to ensure a strong bond.

How I Made It

These are some clips and pictures from the manufacturing process. I didn’t capture everything in depth, and so there is a lot missing, but it should give you an idea how I went about it.
